My 11 year anniversary of living in Florida just occurred this past January. As I think about all the years and experiences I’ve endured during my time here one thing stands true: God is faithful in ALL of his promises.

As many of you know, I am getting ready for this next stage in my life (full-time missionary in Colombia). There are many times where things don’t fall into place (or to my expectations), and in disappointment I began to ask God…why? But I came across this verse and I know it was no accident. It was from the Lord.

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
2 Peter 3:9

What a beautiful reminder that He is a patient God who is in control and that His wisdom is beyond anything that I can comprehend. Sure, my human nature wants to run and go to the things that I have passion for in my heart; but I am reminded by this verse that God’s timing is always perfect. Whenever I make decisions based on my emotions, it usually ends in heartache or disappointment. (Don’t we all know that feeling lol), but regardless of our emotional reactions, God is so patient for us to listen to him. I am in awe of his love for us, how he continually pursues us and desires for us to see things in his perspective. However, there are times when we are too stubborn that God has to allow difficult circumstances to humble us so we can finally listen. (I admit this is me sometimes, stubbornness is in my genes lol).

My point in sharing all of this, is that wherever you are in your walk of life, I hope you know that God has promises for you too and that He will be faithful to keep it. We just need to be willing to listen and obey Him.

I am so thankful that even after the many mistakes I made while living here in Florida; God has given me an opportunity to redeem those moments by following him and listening to him. I am still a work-in-progress, believe me, but I am not where I used to be… thank you Jesus!

Thank you to those who have been a part of this journey with me, whether it’s past or present. I can’t wait to see what God has in store these next few months. And I can’t wait to share it with you all! For more details regarding my journey, please sign up for my newsletter if you haven’t already. I will include photos, prayer requests, and updates more frequently.

In hope and faith,
